Caring for your Handmade Soap

Since our handmade soap contains no chemical hardeners or artificial preservatives, it needs a special (yet very simple!) care plan to make certain that you get the most out of your soap...

Our soap at Miche Wishi is made using traditional soap-making processes, which means that one-third of each bar contains natural glycerine, which is a humectant (this means it attracts moisture). If the soap is left standing in a wet environment, the glycerine in the soap will absorb water and the bar will begin to break down. By taking these appropriate precautions, you can safeguard the life of your soap:

It is best to store the soaps out of water so that it air dries between uses; a slotted soap dish is ideal, placed out of the spray range of a showerhead.

Essential oils are extremely volatile (that is, they evaporate quite easily), and so to reap the benefits of the oils, use the bar up before the 'best before' date stated on the packaging. After that time, the scent might have faded, but it will still be a great bar of soap!
