soothing oatmeal exfoliating soap

Skin-softening soap with ground Oats, Borage and Wheatgerm oils

The Arabians and Egyptians have used oats in their skin care regimes as early as 2000BC; Greek and Roman civilisations have documented the value of oats in healing skin ailments, and the soothing relief of dry, irritated skin.

Borage and Wheatgerm oils are rich in vitamins E, A, and D; these high levels of natural antioxidants are said to help new cell formation, improve circulation, and help to repair sun damage to skin. These oils’ nourishing properties are ideal for dry, sensitive skin. Whole oats are ground and mixed with these oils; we then add this moisturising blend to our soap mixture at the end of the soapmaking process as a ‘superfatting’ additive, to ensure a creamier, highly emollient bar, while still maintaining the mild, cleansing properties of olive oil soap.

In addition, we add a sweet, warm, aromatic blend of Cinnamon, Clove, Vanilla and Benzoin essential oils, which collectively have antiseptic, stimulating, and astringent properties, highly effective in giving dull, ashy skin a new lease of life!
